Sick...

So my viral eye has just about cleared up finally, thanks to the last resort steroid drops the doctor had to give me, but in comes another sickness....BLAH! I think it's just a cold for now, but it's got me achy and just feeling yucky. I am glad that it hasn't gotten worse so far, here's to it just going away and not spreading to everyone else. In the back of my mind I also worry about that stupid swine flu, only because of my little ones. I thought I worried a lot before I was a Mama...
I really have been contemplating a major diet change. A fellow friend of mine who also has MS introduced me to the Swank diet, but it was way too overwhelming for me to commit to giving it a shot. I looked up diets to help low immunity, but the bottom line is just eating healthy, which I just don't take the time to do. And exercise, which I think I'm doing a good job of incorporating now that the weather is getting nicer and Ethan loves to go outside. Speaking of whom, my back is KILLING me today from lifting him. I had to take E to the doctor's, so I was pretty much carrying him around all morning. Yesterday we were at the playground and I was carrying him around then too so that probably has something to do with the pain. God bless my little 28 1/2 lb boy!

Garage Sale Adventures

So my mother-in-law wanted to go see what kind of garage sales were out on Friday...I was not super excited, only because I wanted to check out the inside of my eyelids more, but I was obliging, as usual! The truth is, once we left the house my excitement grew, and was disappointed when we only found 3! The weather was a little gloomy and it rained all last week, so that probably had something to do with the lack of outside activity.
In any case, I did end up with a few good deals! For Ethan, a snow suit (just the bottoms, he already has a coat, anyway) for next season and a pair of pants, $1 each, two board games for when he's old enough (gotta start stashing away for Family Game Night, whenever it's implemented!) for $1.50, and a few sweaters for me, $1 each and two bought by my MIL. I also found an Easy Bake Oven for my niece for $2. The day would have been extremely awesome had I been able to pick up a sand box turtle we came across for $5!! Unfortunately, it did not fit in the Hyundai. The people said they'd be out the next day, but when I sent the husband out to get it, no one was there. Oh well, I guess it wasn't meant to be. That being said, I am still on the lookout for a sand box (preferably the low-maintenance turtle variety) for this summer. I am sure it would provide great entertainment for Ethan, and yet another reason to get ourselves outside!
